Looking at my 15-month-old daughter's cheeky smile is my bright spot. When she was born she took about 5 minutes to start breathing, and we really thought we'd be going home without a live baby. Then she had to spend 3 days on a drip in the neonatal unit, to stabilise her blood sugar because of my gestational diabetes, but despite all that, and being born to an over-40, she's so quick to pick things up, and is very chatty already.
