friends

I was driving home last month after a particularly bad year, a "year of Job", as some would say. I was in a new place, and missing friends, and my old dog, and tired of figuring out how to exercise, and wanting to find a way to volunteer and give back, and not sure how to meet new people. Suddenly, it all came together like a burst in my head - walk dogs at the local humane society! I got on their website, not knowing if that was something they even needed, and there, listed under "current volunteer needs" was "DOG WALKERS".

I recently moved to a new city to be with my boyfriend. I just started school about 2 months ago, and then we broke up so I thought I was going to have to move back with my parents. But 4 out of the 9 people in my class offered to let me move in with them! I couldn't believe it!

Theres this girl who was born with pneumonia and was put on a respirator. the doctors later found a heart murmur and did and echo. they found a hole between to of her heart chambers. when they did open heart surgery they found yet another heart defect and had to patch that one up as well. 3 years later the muscle was overgrowing the patch and closing off one of the chambers... and once again they had to do surgery.

I had 10 friends over for lunch yesterday. If each of these good friends has 10 good friends and each of those 10 friends have 10 good friends, we end up with a pretty friendly planet.
