Snuggled up in my favorite chair with a cup of coffee, and great book, and my two sweet and adorable kittens curled up in my lap, purring away. A perfect Saturday :D

I worked at a beautiful office today with a view of a river. The sun was shining in through the large windows. Every time I looked up a saw a sailboat float by or a bird fly past.

|
Most cashiers are in a big hurry to ring up the customer and get them on their way. I’m always most impressed by the cashier that slows down and takes the time to interact with the elderly customers. Some are lonely and look forward to talking to anyone. You can tell by the smile on their face that the patient and kind cashier made their day that much better.

My 5 year old godson Tommy was coming down the hallway in his pajamas one morning looking very grumpy and worried, with his arms folded across his chest. When I said "Good morning, Tommy, what's going on this morning?", he replied, "I had so much on my mind, I couldn't sleep at all last night."

Well a story that makes me happy is that I was able to help my sister out with some groceries and other things. I don't make a lot of money and she definately doesn't, but I had some extra this month and I was able to buy her some things. She works hard but doesn't make much and takes care of others in her home that do not work. So she deserves it. I love her.
|

Today, I spent time with friends I hadn't seen in several months. We played tennis, which was great because we were able to get out and exercise. We caught up over dinner and are now planning our next get together and promising to make sure that we don't fall out of touch again :]

My bright spot would be watching my son advance and grow while training on the local swim team and then competing each week. He is now an above-knee amputee as he was born with birth abnormalities. Despite his physical challenges, he often places first in his division at the meets. He swims against able-bodied children.

|
This past weekend I went camping in the most beautiful spot. It was a friend's private property with a mountain, a river and a huge somewhat overgrown plot of land. A group of us camped out there for the weekend. We went tubing on the river, which was a ton of fun. Bathing in the river was quite pleasant, as well. One afternoon I took off on my own and climbed up the mountain. There is a windy trail running up the mountain side, but I wanted to get to the top so I just climbed straight up. It took about an hour to reach the summit through thorns and branches, and the view was magnificent.

I had the best evening last night. My boyfriend and I went to a new restaurant then we went exploring in this futuristic looking really tall hotel in times square with glass elevators - it was really fun watching all the people from the top and getting vertigo.
