Just spent two weeks in Europe. I went hiking in the Swiss Alps, which was completely nuts, but making it to the top was so incredible. The view was breathtaking, as was the hike.

Yesterday I found a great parking space in a lot at my college campus. It seemed too good to be a valid lot, as it was almost empty on a very busy day, where not even the parking garage offered a spare space... And it was very close to my classes. There were no signs posted, so I took a chance and pulled in.
As I sat in the car, getting my books and papers together, a woman walked up to me to tell me that I had in fact stumbled upon a lot that she was reserving for teachers, and students couldn't park there until evening. So, I apologized and chuckled with her that I knew it was too good to be true that I had found such a good spot.
She said that most people get mad and act rude when she tells them the lot is for staff, and since I hadn't done that, she let me park there for the day!
Yay - good parking spots and nice people make me happy!

In 8 days I marry the man I love. At 40 years old I had consigned myself to spinsterhood. Then I met John. We get each other. We enjoy each other’s company. We get a kick out of each other. When I think of something funny I can’t wait to share it with him, it makes my day to get him to laugh. So, on May 23rd I walk down the aisle on my dad’s arm and start a new life. That makes me happy.

My parents came for a visit. It had been a really long time since the whole family had been together. We planned to visit lots of tourist spots, but ended up just spending most of the time reminiscing. We ate a lot.

Happiness is going to the grocery store to buy frozen peas and then lip synching/dancing in the freezer section when Collective Soul's "December" plays over the PA system.

Someone I love is fighting Cancer and it makes me so grateful for my own health and that of my children!

For Mother’s Day I had everyone over for brunch. My fiance got his hands on armfuls of tulips and we were able to pick bunches of other flowers from the garden of the empty house next door. The day went exceptionally well and I still have the flowers (albeit they are a little “wilty”). That morning we all ate my signature Spanish omelets and country potatoes and then John set up his new disc golf basket and the guys played. This included nephew Jack (who just turned 2!). My brother-in-law said he had rarely played, yet he got almost every throw into the basket. John was a little embarrassed. Jack hugged my pear tree and he and my dad agreed that “trees are our friends.” Happy day.

Drinking tea, snuggling under the covers with dogs, while writing and listening to favorite songs = perfection.

I am expecting my first child and could not be happier! I truly appreciate the beauty of becoming a mother and being responsible for the greatness of another person's life. I can not wait to hold my daughter in my arms and love her with all that I have!

I have been very blue lately after me and my husband got news 6 months ago that we will not be able to have biological children. I have been very unhappy and down. I guess I should have got a second opinion because I AM EXPECTING! =] I never in a million years thought this would happen! I have never been so happy in my life. Ever since I found out last week I have been on cloud 9. Life is great! =]
